When you sell to Amazon through the Vendor Central platform, the vendors actually have a lot less flexibility and freedom than third-party sellers like ourselves. Currently, it’s a big opportunity for smaller sellers to compete with larger brands. For the sake of brevity, I won’t go into the full details of how to optimize an Amazon listing in this article, instead check out our Amazon Optimization Guide. […]

A friend mentioned this before and I think after some research we determined it was actually against TOS. I could be remembering wrong. Regardless, unless this angle IS your brand (and making it your brand takes more than including it in a bullet point) like Toms then IMO the impact is probably negligible.

I don’t think this breaks any Amazon TOS, though is it a worthy sales tactic as such?

Liking the new podcast formats btw…

Hi,
Yes, but the full spreadsheet has many fields not discussed here in part 3, and often it is category specific too.

In part two you mentioned for new sellers it would be good to add a new product with the lite excel spread sheet first and then update and optimize as a second step…. So would a lot of the optimization discussed in this part three be the added part in step two of the advanced excel product adding sheet?

The pet category is also one of the most competitive categories on Amazon so it may simply be the other competition is outranking you rather than Amazon supressing your results in the pets category because they think you’re an easter product. If they semantically think you’re an easter product, then I’d suggest rewording your description et al – you alluded to the most important part- the fact that you have the word easter in your title. I’d lose that in the title if you can.

Recently I got an issue about one of my products. It is a Carrot-shaped dog chewing rope, and under the category of Pet Supplies-Dogs-Toys-Ropes. The product title contains keyword “Easter”, and it had a good ranking during the Easter holiday. But when I tried other keywords (rope, chewing toy, etc), it’s very difficult to find my product. It seemed that Amazon put this product into the “Easter category”. Did you have similar issues before?
Thanks.
