Holiday Retail Sales Expected to Increase by End of 2023

As we enter the last quarter of the year, stores are gearing up for another busy holiday shopping season ahead.

Deloitte just released its annual holiday retail forecast and found that retail sales will increase anywhere from 3% to 4% in 2023, a growth of almost 12% compared to last year’s holiday season.

Deloitte’s U.S. economic forecaster Daniel Bachman claims the reason for the jump is attributed to three reasons: healthy employment, income growth, and moderation of inflation.

The company’s vice chair, Nick Handrinos, expects ecommerce to still be strong as consumers search for the best deals online and retailers who can adjust to consumer demand will be poised for the most growth this holiday season.
